Bachelor’s Degree
Studying for a bachelor’s degree is a 3-year undertaking and results in a qualification of BAC+3 level. Degree courses are taught by French universities, equating to 180 ECTS credits under the European Credits Transfer System. The duration of a degree course is divided into 6 semesters, during which students have a minimum of 1,500 hours of classes.
The 3rd year of a degree course is also accessible to holders of BAC or HSC + diploma.

Course Objective
The course follows the evolution of the tourism market worldwide very closely and aims to be the solution to the contemporary needs of the Mauritian and the Indian ocean tourism market.
Set up in collaboration with ESTHUA (Etudes Supérieures de Tourisme et d’Hôtellerie de l’Université d’Angers), the course stands out by its emphasis on emerging markets such as India and China by offering courses in Mandarin and Hindi as well as Chinese and Indian history and tourism practices. It also focuses on tourism and leisure, with a concentration on the use of social media in promoting tourism products.
The course is a Bachelor’s degree in tourism and is taught by lecturers from ESTHUA as well as local specialists, culminating with a state degree from the University of Angers. The timetable has been set to enable professionals of the tourism industry to also avail of the Bachelor’s degree in Tourism et Culture.
To join this third year, a post-secondary diploma of 2 years (BTS or an equivalent diploma) is needed.

Eligibility
The bachelor’s degree in tourism and culture (L3) is open to holders of a university diploma of HSC/BAC +2 (Diploma, BTS or equivalent degree). Experienced professionals with HSC/BAC are also eligible. Their requests will be examined by a selection panel.
Teaching Method
For this third year, the teaching method will be adapted to accommodate students in full-time, work/study or continuous learning programs.
