Masters

Our Masters’ programs are conceived to help you build a solid professional portfolio and further develop your knowledge in a specific field. The Master’s degrees are conferred by the French government and are internationally recognised for their high standards in quality of education and meeting professional requirement in different areas.

The Master’s programs are for professionals who wish to further their career, take on leadership positions and specialise in specific fields in view of preparing for specific career goals.

The programs have been developed to cater for specified needs of working professionals, with a practical pedagogical approach, geared towards the corporate world. There is a particular focus on applied concrete cases, case studies and professional experiences, thus allowing students to put their knowledge acquired in class to practice in a professional setting.

Two Master’s programs, specialising in the following are available:

Master’s in Management and International Commerce

This program enables you to enhance your skills in strategic management, international marketing, finance, logistics and human resource management. You will be able to develop an in-depth expertise in international commerce, thus preparing you for leadership roles in companies with a global reach. The pedagogical approach based on international operations will allow you to grasp the challenges and opportunities of the international market.

Master’s in Tourism

If you are passionate about the tourism industry, the Master’s in Tourism: focus on Insular Regions program will strengthen your knowledge on the trends and challenges of world tourism, while developing your skills in tourist destination management, tourism marketing, sustainable tourism, and hotel management. Thanks to an immersive pedagogical approach, you will be ready to take on challenges of this constantly evolving sector.

The Master’s programs are 2-year programs, organised in collaboration with ESTHUA (Etudes Supérieures de Tourisme et d’Hôtelletie de l’Université d’Angers). You will be taught by renowned experienced lecturers and will benefit from networking opportunities with industry professionals. For the duration of your course, you will be supported and individually monitored to ensure your success.

Course Objective

Train senior executives having an understanding in and a cross-disciplinary approach to business and international operations, experts in marketing or human resources, who are capable of taking management-related decisions in international companies or companies wishing to go international.

This course is a continuation of the Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management. It is aimed at students who wish to build their careers in marketing or human resources, internationally or in international and multicultural companies.

The International Management and Marketing route trains students to become specialists in international marketing-related jobs, who are able to conceive, negotiate and execute decisions adapted to the economic, legal and cultural contexts of companies operating on the international market.

The International Human Resource Management route trains future human resource managers and consultants, experts in Human Resources, with a strategic knowledge and mastering techniques related to Human Resources in an international context.

Pre-Requisites

The course is open to students holding a Bachelor’s degree (BAC+3) in Economics and Management or equivalent.

Mode of recruitment: application + interview + English language test (similar to IELTS).

Course Structure

The academic training takes place over 510 teaching hours: 252 hours in class and 258 tutorial work.

Medium of Instruction: French and English.

Course Content

The course proposes a common Master’s course for the first year, and two options for Masters 2: International Marketing and Management or International Human Resource Management. The syllabus for the first year is common for all students, who will then have a choice to specialise in one of the two options for the second year.

The International Management and Marketing course is available in Mauritius whereas the International Human Resource Management course is available at IAE Angers.

Master 2

The International Management and Marketing track (which is taught entirely in English) offers a specialisation in international marketing with modules such as: E-marketing, New Trends in Marketing, International Business Communication, International Consumer Behaviour, International Trade Negotiation, International Market Research, International Product Management.

Professional Internships

The course includes a mandatory internship of three months for first-year students and one of 5-6 months for second year students in an international company or one dealing at international level.

An internship dissertation which counts towards final markings, is required at the end.

Students who are already employed are exempt of internship but will have to write a dissertation based on their paid employment.

Job Prospects

Students wishing to specialise in International Management and Marketing can be employed as commercial directors, sales directors.

Those who wish to specialise in Human Resource Management can take up employment as recruitment manager, HR consultant and director.
